San Diego drug arrests nets 14 in Escondido by undercover agents during a raid at seven local Escondido bars.
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in conjunction with the Escondido Police Department and undercover federal agents netted 14 arrests after a six month investigation. Thirty two purchases of illegal drugs were bought by undercover agents during the investigation, including cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and illegal prescription drugs, according to John Carr a spokesman for the California Alcoholic Beverage Control.
This has been portrayed by authorities as the biggest San Diego illegal drug raid in the county carried out by the California Alcoholic beverage Control. Bartenders, waiters, bouncers and patrons were among the arrested in the San Diego drug crime. The liquor licenses of the establishments where the employers were arrested are in jeopardy of being revoked.
“This has been an in depth investigation, and should send a clear message to all Escondido Alcohol Beverage Control establishments,” said Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher. “Escondido Police Department will continue to hold the local bars accountable in order to assure the stay compliant with all laws,” said Maher.
