Mission Beach Sexual Assault Investigated

An investigation is underway of a woman visiting from out of town who reported that she was sexually assaulted in San Diego's Mission Beach.

A woman whose name has not been released told San Diego police she was assaulted sexually in an alley near the 700 block of Santa Barbara Place after two men drove her from Belmont Park. It was unknown if she got into their car freely or if she was taken.

The 39 year-old woman did not report the San Diego crime to authorities for several hours and could not supply information of the two men or the car they drove. She also waited a few hours before going to the hospital.

Police are investigating this sex crime for more information.
