La Costa Murder Suspect Arrested After Turning Himself into Police

A La Costa Man suspected of murdering his girlfriend turned himself into police on Saturday, according to a Carlsbad police lieutenant.

Jennifer Stark, 43, was found dead in her Carlsbad home by her son on Friday about 11:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of Camino Del Parque near Paseo del Norte, slashed to death.

According to friends of the slain woman, they said she worked as a certified shorthand reporter at the Vista courthouse. “She was a great person,” her ex-husband said sadly.

Around 4:30 a.m. Jonathan Scott French, 40, the alleged murder suspect turned himself into the Encinitas Sheriff’s station, and was arrested. The San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies found French’s vehicle earlier that night covered in blood stains.

French who is the accused in this Carlsbad murder case, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is incarcerated at the Vista Jail without bail. He is scheduled Tuesday for arraignment on one count of first degree murder.
