Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murdering Wife on San Diego Cruise Ship

The San Diego Carnival Cruise Ship Elation docked today at its San Diego homeport carrying 2052 passengers and a man who was arrested by FBI on suspicion of murdering his wife a few days earlier.

The Carnival cruise ship had just ended a five night cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The unidentified man was taken into custody for suspicion of killing his wife aboard the ship by security and kept in the brig until the ship reached the Port of San Diego at 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The 55 year-old slain wife was found in her cabin by crewmembers. She was taken by the San Diego County medical examiner about three hours after she was found dead, according to FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth.

The suspect of this domestic violent crime and his wife were apparently in an argument on Tuesday evening according to witnesses from a nearby cabin who called security on the ship to complain about the loud dispute.

FBI agents took the man suspected of the homicide into custody for questioning. They are also questioning about 30-40 other witnesses that were aboard the ship.
