San Diego Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Stealing From Fitness Center

A San Diego woman who was caught stealing items from a locker room at a popular fitness club was taken into custody on Wednesday; bail is set at $65,000, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The 36 year-old woman was working out at the Santee 24 Hour Fitness when she was arrested on theft charges. Police found her gym bag filled with stolen items that belonged to the members of the club. A $1,600 watch and a purse with $400 in cash were some of the items found in the bag. The thief devised a way to break into the lockers, while the members were working out.

More stolen goods, including jewelry, purses, expensive new clothes, and gift cards were found in the woman’s car and also at her home in Mira Mesa. The items were estimated to be about $20,000 in value.

The unidentified woman was brought to Las Colinas jail where she was booked on grand theft and possession of stolen property and suspicion of burglary.
