San Diego Police Officer Stabbed in the Face with a Pen

A San Diego Police officer was stabbed with a pen by a teenage girl, while her father was being arrested in the Lake Murray area.

Police shot the teenage girl with a Taser after the attack. The officers, the girl and her father all ended up in the hospital for treatment, said police Lt Chuck Kaye.

The incident occurred about 5:45 p.m. at a home on Everglades Avenue when a patrol officer and a detective tried to arrest a man on a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. As the man went outside to let the officers handcuff him, his 17 year-old daughter assaulted them.

The teenager bit the patrol officer on the forearm, and then stabbed the detective in the face with a pen, scratching him from forehead to chin.

Other San Diego police officers were called in for help. As they arrived at the home of the assault, one of the officers used a Taser on the girl. The father of the girl complained of chest pains after the attack and was taken to the hospital.
